Mrs. Virdin has been working with Mrs. DeLaTorre, where she brings her loving, can-do attitude to any situation!

Where were you on your teaching journey before joining us at TDS?
Before I had children, I taught elementary school for eight years and was an elementary school counselor for one year in Washington, DC. More recently, I worked part time at Duke Memorial Weekday preschool in Durham.

What is your favorite thing about TDS so far?
Over the course of the past month, everyone I have met at TDS has been nothing but friendly and welcoming. And, of course, I love the TK team and our TK students.

Family and Pets?
My husband John and I have three children: Ross (14), William (11), and Blythe(7). I am almost embarrassed to admit how many pets we have! If you can believe it, we have two dogs, Otter and Boon, and three cats, Owen, Kyle, and Daniel.

Hobbies and Interests?
I love to run and exercise and walk with my friends. I also enjoy reading, drawing, and traveling with my family.

Favorite…
Food: Sushi and anything spicy (also: coffee ice cream!)
Drink: Coffee
Movie: Coco
Book: The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
Song/Band/Album: I love almost all music!
Team: Durham Bulls

Fun Fact:
One of the coolest things I ever got to do was watch sea turtles hatching and making their way to the ocean when I was in Indonesia with my husband. We also swam with manta rays on the same trip!
