Mr. Jenkins joins us to serve as our Lower School Music Teacher and Middle School Chorus director, and we are so glad he’s here! His passion for music is infectious, and he is excited to share his talents and excitement with his students.
Where were you on your teaching journey before joining us at TDS?
Before joining TDS, I was completing my master of music degree at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. I graduated in December 2020. TDS is my first professional teaching position.
What is your favorite thing about TDS so far?
My favorite thing about TDS thus far is the kind, supportive community that the administrators and staff create for the students as well as for their colleagues.
Family and Pets?
My family and I are from Birmingham, AL, which is where the majority of them still reside. I am the youngest of 3 brothers. Both of my brothers are married and have two children each. I have 3 nieces and 1 nephew whom I love dearly. I have no pets.
Hobbies and Interests?
In my free time, I enjoy hiking and swimming. I love being outdoors. I also enjoy gardening. I love spending time with friends and family. Watching TV shows as well as reading books are other activities I enjoy. Cooking and baking are also interests of mine. I enjoy cooking and baking especially when with friends. Travel is a very active interest of mine. I also love opera and theatre as well as music and art in general.

- Food: Southern cooking, tacos, sushi, and dark chocolate
- Drink: Coca-Cola, lemonade, coffee, and water
- Movie: The Day After Tomorrow, Hello Dolly (Streisand), and other musicals, Pixar, action, and comedy.
- Book: I enjoy motivational literature as well as historical and informative literature.
- Song/Band/Album: “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart… otherwise I can’t really pick favorites. I love music in general. I am drawn especially to artists with great voices.
- Team: Atlanta Braves

I have been in 15 opera productions.
