Those who have worked in schools can attest to the struggle that comes when the month of May hits. The students hit their summer walls early, and it can sometimes feel like that dreaded dream: trying to run at full speed and finding yourself not moving at all. As our teachers work to change things up and creatively keep the kids on their toes, Teacher Appreciation Week couldn’t have come at a better time. Your generosity brought a meaningful boost to our staff last week that we’ll be carrying with us through the end of the year.

The joy was palpable – colleagues who work in different buildings chatted over the extravagant snacks, we met daily to cheer for (and playfully envy!) our raffle winners, and bonded over the thoughtful notes and treasures from students. The power of a thank you is more meaningful to a teacher’s heart than I can possibly articulate, and everything about last week filled more buckets than can be measured. Thank you, parents, from the very bottom of our hearts, for your outpouring of appreciation!
