The joy of Lower School Field Day buzzed through our campus this year more than ever. After a year full of canceled or altered traditions, this beloved event was met with anxious anticipation by our students, our teachers, and our parents. While we may not have been able to accommodate all of the parents who wished to be involved, a glorious sense of normalcy came from seeing a group of you volunteering once again! We had parents shagging softballs far and wide, cheering on the ever-competitive tug-of-war events, sneaking paper clip pokes to help students pop balloons, and more.
As I walked around the field taking pictures and joining in on the fun, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief. Relief that we were able to hold this event (thanks to the fearless leadership of the Scheper and Travis families), and relief that we may actually be heading toward times that make moments such as these possible once again. While I truly believe we have thrived under the circumstances of this difficult year as a school, it’s time to lean into our awesome community, and I am looking forward to finding more ways to partner with you all in the year to come.
