Last Friday evening, the TDS parking lot was transformed into a spooky alleyway, designed to frighten (and entertain!) even the bravest of souls. More than one hundred families encountered pumpkins with glowing slime, a dancing Chewbacca, the Ectomobile, a wandering zombie, and a mad scientist (TDS parent Sachin Patel) repeatedly performing bloody operations on an unsuspecting patient, all without ever leaving their cars. And for making it through this bone-chilling gauntlet? A goodie bag full of sugar to rev kids up before bedtime! Those who stayed past the 8:00PM curfew were treated to Dr. Nelson and her husband blowing up a pumpkin!

Thanks to so many in our community for making this inaugural Halloween Haunt a creepy success! This list includes several teachers (Mrs. DeLaTorre, her daughter & neighbors, Ms. Cabrera & her children, Dr. Nelson & her husband, Ms. Heysha, Mr. Dowd, Mr. Forringer & his family, Mr. Norry & his son, and Mrs. Lazar), along with some middle schoolers (Zion D, Will P, Ash and Taite K). We also appreciate the many parents who donated pumpkins, candy, and goodie bags, and who helped with set-up and take-down after the event.

A special thanks to Mrs. DeLaTorre, whose energy, creativity, and leadership are at the root of so many fun events and traditions at TDS. She is already crafting some eerie plans for next year.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!
